Beware Of The Dream Stealers

They continue to pop up throughout life. Most likely they are the friends and family in your own back yard with the best intentions for you, so they say, all the while they encourage you to give up before you begin. They appear in positions of concern, jealousy, fear, and their own lack of self worth.

Recently a friend of mine vulnerably shared with me, his fresh experiences in his new world of network marketing. I connected to everything he said because I was once where he was and hating it. To tell you the truth I learned very quickly to deal with confrontations of this manner with a smile and empathy because the reality that these people reside in is tough. They lack self worth and with this comes a negative outlook on the world around them, as they see it.

Dream stealers may first pounce on you in your early years, before you hit your teens. When you are at that cute age that you just start to express your creative mind and imagine what you “might like to be when you grow up.”

I recall a dream stealer stomping on every single one of my dreams whilst growing up. I never knew that there was a title for these people back then. I simply viewed the situation involving my D.S. (Dream Stealer) being as though they were “concerned” for my best interests and wanting the best for me in life, which no doubt they DID. As years passed, I discovered that this “concerned” appearance was actually a “false” appearance and what was really being revealed by the D.S. back then was THEIR “lack of self worth” and also THEIR “fears.”

Whilst we are growing up, we are generally bound and conditioned by the walls of our family home and the authorities in it. During this time you are not expected to map out your dreams alone, so naturally you are given direction from those people within this place of comfort we call home. Generally, you should be able to place immense trust in those people, being your family, as up until that point in your life, family (in one form or another) are naturally who you turn to, without thinking, for guidance in mapping out your very first dreams and how to reach them.

Bear in mind D.S. are in actual fact negative people and people that really don’t have any goals or know what to do with their life. Never try to confront a D.S. because they are not yet aware that you are in a state of awareness beyond theirs. Simply move on whilst encouraging them to follow their dreams because they are the people that need it most.

I have, at various points in my life, been without direction or goals and when I reflect back over those periods it is apparent that I was also surrounded by the same kind of people.

My business mentor, Aaron Byerlee, said to me once: “Choose your friends wisely and qualify your business leads before enrolling them into your team, for if you are a 10/10 as a leader, you will attract 8’s and 9’s, if you are a 6/10 as a leader then you will attract 4’s and 5’s” and so on.

Stop for a moment to quickly think about the following. The first names and situations that pop into your mind are generally correct.

1.      “Who the five people you spend your time most with are.”

2.      “Do you ever walk away from any of them with a heavy heart from listening to them talk utter nonsense and petty drama’s?

These thoughts were provoked by one of my favourite mentors, Jim Rohn.

Relationships dramatically influence our decision making, self esteem, thought process and lifestyle choices. It is always the ones closest to us, naturally because we trust them that can sometimes deter us from our dream path the most. As I mentioned earlier in this blog, it is because of their own fears and lack of self worth which prevent them from focusing on turning their own dreams into a reality and intentionally OR unintentionally crushing yours.

Walk away from the 97% crowd. Don’t use their excuses. Take charge of your own life. Jim Rohn

MY current DREAMS are to continuously work on self development techniques which assist me in becoming the grandest version of who I am, to better be able to understand and help other people from a place of compassion and love. You can never be motivated in this life by money alone, therefore I am committed to working within my global business helping others to realize their dreams and gain financial independence, via residual income which in turn will provide them with more time and freedom allowing better quality of life to share with loved ones and help others to do the same.

Alongside my Network Marketing Business I aim to connect with philanthropists to learn how together we can make the greatest difference to the people of the world and through what means.

Please share your dreams below after reading a few tips on KEEPING SAFE from DREAM STEALERS.

  1. Your dreams are goals; write them down as you would any goal. Short term and long term. Give yourself a time frame and be realistic.
  2. Vision board. This has cut out pictures, words; inspiration stuck to it and is visible to you, preferably on a wall, that you see every day which will remind you why you are going to make YOUR DREAMS a reality inside your realistic time frame.
  3. Do not share your dreams with negative people or those that talk garbage and leave you feeling heavy hearted. Remember, the dream stealers are on their own path too, so do not judge, instead accept that is where they are at in overcoming self doubts and fears. Do not let their lack of vision tarnish yours (dreams).
  4. Share your successes but not your failures. Failure is 100% going to happen if you are to be successful. You simply will not learn if you do not fail. By sharing a failure with a dream stealer will only validate their opinion of what you are doing.
  5. Find 3 people that you respect and admire who influence you and others positively in the community or as a leader and have achieved their dreams or are where you will eventually be. Make your self known to them and set up an accountability arrangement with them. Let them know that each week for one hour you would like to check in with them either face to face or on the phone (each of these 3 mentors) to discuss your progress and your next strategy in becoming a step closer to reaching your dreams.
  6. Next watch your dreams unfold before your eyes.
  7. REMEMBER: WINNERS NEVER QUIT AND QUITTERS NEVER WIN.

Inspiration Station Has Me Intrigued…WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

Network Marketing is the most rewarding business on the planet. I meet amazing people every day who inspire me with their stories and adversities overcome. I am always giving energy to others and in turn receiving energy. That energy can be either positive or negative, mind you. Always repel the negative my dears, right back where it came from, realize it, but do not absorb it via thought, let it go immediately. Network Marketing has a certain kind of energetic formula that works, and you can apply throughout your life generally too.

“Match Energy With Energy.”

After my recent visit to entrepreneur.com a few things hit home for me. We all NEED inspiration to put ideas into motion and keep us on track with our goals. Without inspiration we are destined for dooms day and that aint no place to play! I have had a little less inspiration recently than I would have normally liked and most times I am fast to jump on that mental space and change it.

Feeling perplexed and overwhelmed with life’s adversities recently, I was challenged with a business decision and made up in my mind that I “could not do it.” (This is one of those times where you tap into one of your energetic “inspiration resources” for a top up. Hence why I say you need several inspiration avenues to call on as they won’t all be suitable for various adverse situations that you will be faced with though time.) I notified my business mentor/partner and his reply was “Yes you could.”  I had it already so firmly engrained in my mind’s eye that I was not going to do what I had set out to do. I opted the easy route out. My excuse was that my problems were being bigger than my opportunity on this occasion and therefore admitted self defeat. I also decided I was happy with that decision because it was my truth and I accepted full responsibility for that outcome.

My mentor on the other hand was not done with that decision and thankfully I chose well when I picked him because he pushed me beyond where I thought I could travel on this occasion. He assured me that he would support me if I only follow through. I agreed thinking that his call was reasonable and I could not argue. Mr Mentor pointed out to me that I should have chosen the hardest decision and feel confident that I could outsmart the habits that are governing the direction in my life. In doing this I would be actively changing my future and reaching my full potential rather than riding life’s insane circular merry go round.

What was the outcome from all of this learning? Well Mr Mentor then asked me what my solution was.

“If you are not focusing on a solution then you’re focusing on the problem.”

My simple solution to my inspiration block came whilst reading this time. Tony Robins is a great motivator and I tap into his resources frequently. From his recent article I learned that one must defy adversity and do what you believe is right in spite of your fear. Demand more from yourself that others would expect and live by the power of sincere and selfless contribution.

“When challenged, remember to whole heartedly embrace your power from within. Courage is infectious and incurable.” Mr Mentor.

Weight training energises me also, and in-turn delivers me loads of inspiration. Maybe exercise works for you, maybe it does not. Find what does work for you and tap into that as soon as you have that inkling you’re in need of inspiration. As long as I am energised, I am inspired. If I feel a bit flat in my day, I often reshuffle my work load; head off to the gym, recharge the endorphins and I’m then good to go.

Some people might find a walk on the beach, turning up some base and beats or even a short jog around the block or walking the family pet. Then there are the less healthy options such as (I have been a culprit here too  …yes…) a cup of coffee and a cookie. Whatever or where ever it is that brings about your creative burst, it 110% MUST recharge you. I have discovered that when I feel good within myself I am the most creative and my inspiration flows freely. It is critical to have that connection to something (or a few things) external that you know you can tap into for some inspiration energy when your stores are running low.

Bottom line… nothing comes free in this world. There is a price on everything. TIME MANAGEMENT is paramount. The saying “we have all the time in the world” is ridiculous. We don’t. For starters, time is just comparative to measure ones events through life’s experience. However to most efficiently utilize this life for the higher purpose of why we are really here, to be able to “achieve” and make “dreams reality”, we need to use “time” to give goals a “time frame.”  This ensures completion of goals and therefore the celebration of fulfillment. Find your inspiration and run with it!

Does failing health destroy your passion?

Passion is that strong feeling or emotion that you have towards something that you desire intensely. Imagine your Doctor informed you today of a life threatening illness leaving you with only months to live. What immediate and drastic changes you would make in your life NOW? Who are the family and friends you would chose to spend your remaining moments of life with? What DREAMS would you chose to fulfill if you could make a wish and have them come true?

“If passion drives you let reason hold the reins.” – Benjamin Frankin

You cannot put a price on health. I say this with ‘passion’ and gratitude for my excellent well being today after having experienced an unfortunate set of circumstances through life surrounding ill health leaving me bed ridden, even hospitalised. Failing health will do one of two things to you. It will either send you into a turmoil of victimisation and self pity or be an energetic awakening from which dreams are realised. Fortunate are you if life grants you such generous learning’s and you live to tell…..

“Circumstances are unpredictable, sometimes unavoidable, but one thing in life is certain, that being YOUR unique passion, and NO ONE can ever steel that from you.” – Kali Holmes

This years Australia Day Address guest speaker clearly addressed my previous quote. Australian athlete, Kurt Fearnly, three times paralymic’s champion, was born without the lower portion of his spine, none the less, he still grew up playing back yard football and conquered crawling along the Great Wall of China.

Known as the Marathon Man of wheelchair sports, he is a true world champion holding the following titles:

•    43 marathons. 31 wins. Ten additional podium finishes.
•    Marathon wins in 10 countries on five continents.
•    Three-time Paralympian. Nine medals. Three Gold
•    Six-time World Champion
•    2007 and 2009 Laureus World Sports Award Finalist
•    Commonwealth Athlete of the Year with a Disability
•    2009 NSW Young Australian of the Year

Kurt Fearnly is a living example that failing health does NOT destroy your PASSION.

Perfect health and a lack of motivation counteracts good health. Awareness of your truths and values will promote conscious living that inevitably guides you to your passion from which motivation stems naturally. Motivation is what drives your passion into creation mode.

Don’t be afraid to live consciously and passionately, for when you do, you radiate energy throughout the universe which when felt inspires others to do the same.

“Find your source for passion and know your wall for energy.” – anonymous
