Simple two step goal process…Begin with the end in mind…

Kali Holmes goals2013 is well and truly in motion! Have you set your goals and mapped out how to get there yet? If you haven't don't panic, its never too late to get started. High achievers, business people and professional athletes always set goals to stay focused on their purpose. Goals remind you where you are going and how to get there. Honestly, I only just finished mine and whilst completing these, I reviewed and made adjustments to my 5 year plan, 10 year plan, life plan, family plans and my mission and vision statements. All these plans are equally important as they flow on from one to the other in turn creating your bigger picture....your dreams, your destiny.   "If you fail to plan you plan to fail."   Keep it simple. I initiated the process by first reflecting on the previous year, 2012. I ascertained why some targets were not met and how easily others were achieved simply because I was laser focused and 100% committed. 2013 is the year to be surgical, laser focused and absolutely not be tempted by the fruits of another. I am extremely willing to make small sacrifices today for a happier tomorrow. I would rather give up something I love now than instant gratification and delayed ramifications.   "What are you willing to give up in order to achieve your desires?"   My golden rule of creation is to "begin with the end in mind." How? By visualisation. This is a very powerful tool which I use invariably to reach all my goals.  Your visualisation of the end result should be crystal clear in your mind. Actually visualise yourself in the dream job, owning your dream family home, seeing your children healthy and happy, seeing yourself having your desired physique. The end result is always in my minds eye before even commencing on the path to reach the destination as this always brings me what my heart desires. Visualisation acts as a catalyst in the creative process of your thoughts that will manifest your dreams into your reality.   "All thoughts are creative. What you think, you create."   So, how do you document your goals clearly and precisely? With time lines and targets that will ensure your goals are realistic and achievable. Two step goal setting process.... Step one: Begin your yearly forecast by writing down exactly what you would like to achieve by the end of 2013. Step two: For each point on your list, write in point form the small steps you will take to achieve that and tick them off as you conclude each step. Be specific and measurable by including a start and finish date. I always take it one step further just to set it in concrete and include the time of day in which I will execute my plan. Write up each plan (yearly forecast, NOW goals, 5 year, 10 year, life) on a separate document following the two step process outlined above. Simple. Staying focused on the present moment is what few of us really do but is an essential element in achieving those small day to day steps which will ultimately take you to your destination. Sticking to your time lines will ultimately determine you arriving at your target on time every time. In life there are no excuses, only priorities. Be up for the challenge of change and live your dreams. Remember that life is to be enjoyed along the way, so be sure to have incentives and reward yourself at each point.
